DIY Apollo Wood Fort/ Swing Set Plans

Use my do-it-yourself plans to make this cool fort/ swingset and beyond!

My Endeavor do-it-yourself wood fort/ swingset plan is featured in a Better Homes and Garden DIY book called, "Playsets". This design is also featured on the cover of the book. In the book, they refer to it as "Fort Frolic". I would have never come up with frolic! I have to admit, it sounds fun! In your search for a good set of plans, keep in mind, you won't find another set of plans endorsed by Better Homes and Garden.

The picture you see to the right is an Apollo, not an Endeavor. I know it's confusing for me to show the Apollo and talk about the Endeavor, but I'm bragging. Please read on...

Used Playsets For Sale

Designed in my backyard for greater adventures.. The Apollo was born in Houston, TX. ("Space City USA") Named in honor of our American astronauts and the endeavors they represent, the Apollo does not need an explanation. Besides that.. Apollo the Sun God.. I dig the sun.  Too cool and what a great name! Once you see your child rocket through the galaxy, swing through the jungles of the Amazon, or find treasure in the sandbox, it will be easy to see how a playset can help your children develop imagination skills, confidence, coordination, and physical agility. This playset plan is versatile and provides the best options for add-ons that appeal to older climbers.

The Apollo Fort/ Swing set is a stubby Triton .. It was my third fort design. This design shares the same footprint as the Triton, but made for tight yards. The biggest problem for any yard is having space for swings. The footprint of the typical fort is not very large. The Apollo was designed for families that wanted the big fort, but had a limited area for swing space. It also has a lower peak for the canopy top to slip in under the strictest HOA rules.

The Apollo has made many families happy. Over the years, I've put together many DIY kits for families and found the instructions to be difficult at times. It occurred to me that knowledge was power! I could utilize my experience to write a plan for a clean, easy to build, easy to move, and inexpensive playset.

Just the ticket for the novice carpenter! My instructions show step by step, how to build a great playset for your family. I'll include plans for a swing set add-on, accessory arm add-on, inclined rock wall add-on, and picnic table table add-on.  I've refined my specs for maximum wood usage. You'll find there is little waste. The mental effort will be within minimal limits while the physical limits will be worth it when the kiddo's are swinging for the stars.
