Redwood Apollo Fort/ Swing Sets

My Endeavor do-it-yourself wood fort/ swingset plan is featured in a Better Homes and Garden DIY book called, "Playsets". This design is also featured on the cover of the book. In the book, they refer to it as "Fort Frolic". I would have never come up with frolic! I have to admit, it sounds fun! In your search for a good set of plans, keep in mind, you won't find another set of plans endorsed by Better Homes and Garden.

The picture you see to the right is an Apollo, not an Endeavor. I know it's confusing for me to show the Apollo and talk about the Endeavor, but I'm bragging. Please read on...

Designed in my backyard,  the Apollo Fort/ Swing Set features a  5' x 6' deck giving your kids 30 square feet of deck space. The peak of the canopy is 10' 6" high. If attaching a swing set assembly, swings will mount about 7' high. Plans are for an all wood a-frame assembly and 4" x 6" swing beam. All recommended hardware is heavy duty 1/2" or 3/8" carriage bolt or hex bolt for added durability, strength, and peace of mind.

After 10 years and 100's of happy families, I can offer  a wealth of expertise  for building a beautiful, functional, and resalable piece of backyard fun. I do not sell play equipment, however I do offer consultations on what will be the best for your children, your yard, and your wallet. I can offer information on custom designs or offer inspections on new or used equipment you are considering buying. Use my experience to avoid buying too much or not enough and to help determine what's best for your family.

I give you options. My consultation involves, a phone interview, a family interview, and a backyard analysis. If your decision is to use one of my designs,  I will provide you with plans, a wood list, parts list, and the necessary contacts to acquire these items. At this point you can hire a contractor to build your system.

The best option is to put my skilled hands to work and let me prep and assemble your play system for a fee. I offer graduating levels of work enabling you to save  money by altering the amount of detail put into your project. Build time takes about 2-3 weeks. Consultation is $75.00. If I build your swingset, I'll knock 50% off the consultation.

Why do I offer my designs to you this way? Wood prices are higher than ever, steel cost are up 50-60%, freight cost are up 50%. I do not buy in volume, therefore my lumber cost, hardware cost, and shipping cost are the same as yours. By making you do some of the leg work. I am giving you a chance to save some money by removing my markup. It also eases my office time and accounting time. Your time involved in ordering these materials will take less than an hour.
