Layouts & Actual Pages from the Plans:
Every Endeavor plan comes from years of sawdust, sweat, and Saturday mornings spent in real backyards. These aren’t stock drawings pulled from the internet — they’re the same builder’s plans I use myself when cutting, drilling, and assembling a new fort for a family. Each version has been refined over time to make sure it’s clear, accurate, and something anyone can follow.
Each plan includes clear lists, hardware details, and layouts-
everything you need from first cut to final bolt.
The pages shown here are straight from the Endeavor plan set — the exact layouts, lists, and charts you’ll receive in your download. You’ll see the lumber list, hardware and fastener charts, swing set layout, and add-on options like the picnic table and rock wall. Each page is designed to help you stay organized, avoid mistakes, and enjoy the build from start to finish.

The Origin Story of the Endeavor Do-it-Yourself Swingset Plans
|
The Endeavor Fort and Swing Set had humble beginnings. It wasn’t created for profit — it was built from scraps, sweat, and the desire to make something fun for my kid.
My first fort design was a true Frankenstein creation, pieced together from parts of repaired swing sets and leftover boards. I called it Frankie. Armed with nothing more than the wood I could salvage, I spent long days in the Texas heat pulling nails, cutting away broken ends, and carefully choosing boards that still had some life in them. After routing, pressure-washing, sanding, and sealing each piece, the rough pile of scrap became something new. When it was finished, my five-year-old thought it was the coolest thing ever. And I’ll admit it — I sold it. But don’t hold that against me just yet.
|
I sold it with a promise to build something better. That promise led to the Triton (but that’s another story). The family who bought Frankie loved it so much they sent me a friend who wanted one too. This time I built a new one with fresh lumber. Then another. And with every build, the design got a little better.
Back then, it wasn’t the Endeavor. I called it The Little Fort — a simple, sturdy playset for small yards. Over time, I noticed most DIY playset kits came with confusing instructions that left families frustrated. I also saw that hiring someone inexperienced often led to mistakes and costly re-dos.

Add-On Parts & A Word of Caution
A homemade playset can be one of the best backyard projects you’ll ever build — but only if it’s built right.
Many “DIY swing set” plans online are either overbuilt or under-built, using mismatched parts or unclear dimensions. That can lead to safety issues like exposed bolts, poor spacing, or weak hardware.
The Endeavor DIY Playset Plans are refined for simplicity and strength — and are designed to voluntarily meet or exceed the safety standards published by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
Unlike generic sketches or commercial-style layouts floating around online, these plans were written specifically for family backyards. They’re practical, clear, and tested by real families who built them and loved the results.
Whether you add a rock wall, monkey bars, or slide, you’ll know every part is designed to fit safely and perform for years.
